

RUHALA, David Michael – formerly from Flint, age 76, died on December 7, 2014 at his home in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Mr. Ruhala was born November 24, 1938 in Flint, Michigan. He is survived by his former wife, Tobey; his daughters, Kirsten (Brian) Miller and Eugenia (Ray) Danen; his sons, Jeffrey, Michael (Jennifer), and Jason Ruhala; his brother, Richard (Arlene) Ruhala of Flint Township; and his sister, Marilyn (Lynn) Cooper of Palm Springs, California. His deceased parents are John and Anna (Mucha) Ruhala. David previously worked as a Mott Camp Counselor, as a teacher at Flint Northern and Northwestern High Schools, as a professor at Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ, as a Director of Government Affairs for the Michigan Association of School Boards in Lansing, MI, at the American Petroleum Institute in Washington D.C., and as a CEO of the Conference of World Regions based in Leesburg, VA. David enjoyed music and was a member of various choral groups including the University of Michigan Men’s Glee Club in Ann Arbor and later the Choir at Shepherds University. A private Memorial Celebration of his life for his family and friends will be held later this coming Spring. For those desiring memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
