Dear Mr. January and Family,
You all are in my prayers during this time of grief. I worked with Dorothy at Hurley and always appreciated her input and suggestions. She knew her job well and had a good sense of humor. But more than that, Dorothy was a person who made herself available and it was evident that she greatly loved her family. She tolerated my nickname, or term of endearment, for her: Rio de Janeiro. I only got to talk with her a couple of times after she retired, so am happy to learn she reached her spiritual goals.

To the January Family, I was truly sadden to hear of the passing of Mrs. January. I grew up with her children at St. James CME Church, where at that time Mrs. January was a faithful member. I will never forget her voice in the gospel choir. Her signature solo began "is there anybody in who loves my Jesus" really got the church rocking. If you have been to St. James, you know we were quiet worshipers, so that was a task. I lost my Mom soon after she turn 70, so I know that no matter when we lose a love one it is too soon. May the Lord comfort you in your time of sorrow and know that I grieve with you.
