Dorothy McAllister

McALLISTER, Dorothy Helen – Age 95, of Grand Blanc, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at her home. Mrs. McAllister was born December 29, 1916 in Rapid River, Michigan the daughter of Frank and Theresa Grace (Firstel) Leslie. Dorothy loved to garden and bake. After her children were grown she worked for ten years at the Saginaw Township Schools as a baker. Dorothy’s family was her whole life. She is survived by her children, Ronald J. (Marcie) McAllister, Cheryl A. McAllister-Ward, Daniel J. Ward, Sandra J. McAllister, Kathy L. McAllister; grandchildren, Ryan D. (Nazanin Arandi) Ward, Julie (Dan) Van Dyke, Amy (Chris) Daley, Scott (Kirsten) McAllister; many great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, James (Stephanie) Leslie, Elizabeth Nelson, Betty Federspiel, Jack (Bonnie) Miller; sister-in-law, Barbara Miller; many nieces and nephews. Mrs. McAllister was preceded in death by her brothers, Walt Leslie, Loren Leslie, Gordon Leslie, Edward Leslie, Bud Miller. As were her wishes cremation has taken place. Dorothy was very active in the Lutheran church in her younger years while raising her four children. Dorothy remained faithful to her Lord throughout her life. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her entire family.
