Dorothy Jean (Angus) Tubbs, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at her sons home surrounded by her family. She was born on June 23, 1938 to parents Horace G. and Frances (Marciszewski) Angus. Dorothy graduated from Kearsley High School in 1957 and she later worked at the Fair Store in Burton for 18 years until the store closed. She was a Sunday School Teacher at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church for 20+ years. Dorothy was also a Girl Scout leader for Troop 446 in the Kearsley School district for 9 years. She was the Secretary for the Double Jays Bowling League at Richfield Bowl for 40 years. Dorothy loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren; she loved gardening, trivia and Harry Potter. Her home was always full of children and everyone was welcome there. Dorothy is survived by her children: Lyn (Tony) Whitson of Collierville Tennessee, Karen Brown of Davison Michigan, Robert (Tammy) Tubbs of Flint Michigan, Joseph (Jill) Tubbs of Davison Michigan; 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; special siblings: Connie Byres, Mike Smith, Jason Boyd; special friend: Linda Ballard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold D. Tubbs; parents: Horace G. Angus and Frances Marciszewski Angus; brother, Donald G. Angus; granddaughter, Amy Lyn; grandson, Andrew Joseph Tubbs. A funeral service will take place at 2pm on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 1922 Iowa Ave., Flint. Rev. Dr. Jay Gantz officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018 from 1-8pm at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc, and again on Saturday at church, one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1pm. Interment at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church Soup Kitchen.
