March 26, 1965 – February 25, 2021
Douglas Cantrell, 55, went to be with the Lord Thursday, February 25, 2021.
Doug was born in Flint on March 26, 1965, the son of Carl and Wanda(McClanahan) Cantrell. He was a graduate of Grand Blanc High School and was a member of Shriners Fenton Chapter. Doug worked for several corrugated companies before owning CMS Corrugated Machine Services, alongside his wife Cammie. After a few decades of hard work and dedication cancer put limits on his work, as it became hard to preform his duties he still thrived to be part of his passion.
Doug loved to spend time with family and friends where he made wonderful memories and cherished them. He loved to travel and got to see all of the States but 2. He enjoyed cookouts with swimming or boating time with family and friends.
We are beyond blessed to have had a wonderful man in our lives and are eternal grateful. No one could have asked for a better son, brother, husband, father, grand father, uncle, and friend. He never met a stranger and he had more friends than he could count. He was kind to everyone he met and will be sorely missed.
Doug leaves behind his parents, Carl and Wanda (McClanahan) Cantrell; his wife, Cammie (Flanagin) Cantrell; son, Zackary (Courtney) Flanagin; father in-law, Raymond (Lillian) Flanagin, Sr.; mother in-law, Brenda Shirilla; 4 brothers, Jack Cantrell, Lonnie Cantrell, Carlos (Lori) Cantrell, Raymond (Stephanie) Flanagin, Jr.; sisters, Janice (Dave) Drew, and Debbie Russell; 2 grandchildren, Beau Flanagin, Kaiden Stanley; many nephews: Kyle (Heather) Cantrell, Virgil Dewayne, Jr., Jacob Drew, Nickolas (Emily) Drew, Thomas Flanagin, Cody Cantrell, Luke Cantrell; Nieces, Katie & Emma Flanagin; several great nieces and nephews, Carson & Kaylie Cantrell, Allea, Emma, Ava and Riley Drew; many friends and neighbors. He was proceeded in death by his younger brother, Virgil D. Cantrell, Sr.; father in law, Steve Shirilla; grandparents, Tennessee Eva (Horn) Cantrell, Ulis & Garnie (Keen) McClanahan; and many more beloved family members.
Doug, you have touched so many lives in many levels: son, brother, cousin, husband, uncle, dad, grandpa, boss/leader, best friend, neighbor as we know, “This life is temporary”, we have hope for future glory also that you and Virgil are together again. Doug you will be dearly missed and never forgotten!
At this time, the family has chosen to remember Doug privately. Funeral Mass will be at Faith Lutheran Church in Grand Blanc at a later date.
