IN THE CARE OF
Hill Funeral Home
Dyke Howard Hanson, age 68, of Metamora, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Dyke was born July 29, 1953 in Peoria, Illinois to the late Gerald and Alice Hanson.
Dyke was a very talented man. Among his many talents was his love for woodworking, being a handyman, working on his Ford Fairlane, telling jokes, and brewing his own beer. In his free time, Dyke could be found outside riding his motorcycle, boating on Lake Lapeer, water skiing, or scuba diving with a group of his buddies. Dyke spent most of his career working for EDS and then later retired from Eli Lilly. While Dyke was a very active man, God and his family always came first. Dyke never met a stranger and loved staying busy, helping others, and attending his kids' and grandkids' activities.
Dyke is survived by his wife, Sharon; son, Jeffrey Dyke (Sarah) Hanson; daughter, Andrea Kay (Brad) Smith; and grandchildren: Ryder, Reagan, and River. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Alice Hanson; brother, Curt Hanson; and sister, Gayle Fidler.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Journey Lutheran Church in Oxford, Michigan on August 6, 2022 at 11am with a luncheon to follow at HomeGrown Brewing Company.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Journey Lutheran Church or the American Lung Association.
