

Dach, Edward, age 89, of Indian River, died Sunday October 5th, 2014 at Bortz Health Care in Petoskey. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday October 25th, 12 Noon at the Cross In The Woods Shrine, Indian River, MI. Fr. Edward was born on April 1,1925 in Flint the son of the late John and Mary [Barucka] Dach. On April 22, 1950 he married Louise Travinski at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flint and she preceded him in death on March 12, 2014
The couple owned and operated Eddie’s Take Out Grocery Store on Stewart Avenue in Flint for 29 years. Later in life he was employed by Citizens Bank first as the coin vault manager and then as manager of the proof department.
In 1991, the couple moved to their retirement home in Indian River. Edward enjoyed fishing, watching professional football and baseball, caring for their dog Stasha and feeding the birds and ducks with his beloved wife .Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and neighbors. Edward was an excellent cook who took over all of the household responsibilities after his wife Louise suffered a stroke.
Edward is survived by his children, Michael Dach, Grand Blanc, Diane Dach, Flint, Anthony [Patty] Dach of Alachua, FL, Marianne [Arthur] Johnson Flint, Kathi [Darrell] Lavender, Harbor Springs,MI; Eleven grandchildren; twelve great children; sisters Regina Pieknik and Jean Edwards; several nieces and nephews; close friends Jerry and Sharon House, Dick and Donna Widger and Irene Jedlowski He was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Dach; and brother, Eugene
