

Evelyn Virginia McCoubrey (Braham) – Age 96, died Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at the Mondeau Country Care in Lapeer. Evelyn was born July 24 1919 in Flint the daughter of the late Walter and Rose Purcell. She had worked at Advance Electric for 9 years before moving to Cheboygan in 1972. While living in Cheboygan she worked at All Phase Electric, was President of Welcome Wagon, and a member of the Red Hat Society. Evelyn also volunteered at Cheboygan Memorial Hospital and was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. She was married to Kenneth Braham for 56 years and he passed away in 1996. Evelyn married Roy McCoubrey in 2002 and he passed away in 2007. Surviving are her children, Harold (Patricia) Braham, Jerry (Janet) Braham, Bev (Jim) Schlee; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren. Evelyn was also preceded in death by daughter, Rosanne Maine in 1986, grandson, Ryan Schlee in 1995 and granddaughter, Christine Braham in 1995. The family would like to send a special thank you to the everyone at American House in Grand Blanc, Dr. Rodrigues and Cora Sweeney of Hometown Hospice and Nicole Mondeau-Evans and her staff for all the love and care they all gave to Evelyn. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday September 18, 2015 from 11 to 8 p.m. at Hill Funeral Home 11723 S. Saginaw St. Grand Blanc, MI. Burial will be 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Francis Cemetery in Cheboygan, MI. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to Hometown Hospice or charity of your choice.
