Grandpa Diener was a very special man and I miss him so very, very, much. He will be remembered as being jolly and friendly to anyone and everyone. Always offering a friendly, “Hello.” You can’t help to look at his pictures and just smile, he could make anyone smile.
He especially enjoyed having the family over for parties. Grandpa never turned down a party or family gathering, or just getting together to play cards. He also enjoyed motorcycle rides, boat rides, square dancing with grandma, or just an evening car ride to look at deer with a stop at Dairy Queen for a malted.
Grandpa also enjoyed being an active member of his church, offering communion, and singing in the choir. In my teenage years, I remember the Sunday morning knocks on my bedroom door, asking if I was going to church.
He could move furniture more times than I can count. Grandpa greatly enjoyed spending time on his swing either by the lake or on one of his many porches.
Grandpa was very resourceful, he could fix just about anything and if he didn’t know how to fix it, he would drive to Tompkins and ask someone. He and I built a dock in the garage for the lake and took the tractor apart several times. There was always a project to do.
If anyone ever needed help, he was only a phone call away. I am very blessed to have had him as my grandpa. I will miss him dearly.
I love you grandpa

I always refer to him as Grandpa Diener because that is what my children call him! Ours families have been close for at least 57 yrs.
So we have a lot of good memories throughout these years. I know he will be missed so much by all of his family and wife.
May God comfort all of his family knowing he is with our Lord in Heaven!
Love and Hugs,
