George Lee Young Sr.

George Lee Young, Sr., age 85, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2015 in Texas. George proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked at Buick for many years and retired in 1992. After retiring, George moved to Largo, Florida where he enjoyed golfing and playing ping-pong. George is survived by his son, George L. (Gayle) Young, Jr. of Lucas, TX; grandchildren: James (Megan) Young of McKinney, TX and Jennifer (Chris) Brooks of Princeton, TX; three great grandchildren: Logan Young, Cody Brooks, Tyler Brooks; two great granddaughters: Peyton Young and Madison Brooks; his loving friend and companion, Patricia Rudness; close niece, Tina Harris; several nieces, nephews, and many friends in Largo, Florida. George was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Viola Young; his wife of 51 years, Shirley Young; siblings: Deo Young and Judy Crane. The funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 1:00pm – 8:00pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to VNA (Visiting Nurse Association) and Hospice of Collin County, Texas in memory of George.
