Grace Marie Dawson

DAWSON, GRACE MARIE , 93, of Grand Blanc, formerly of Greenbush, MI, died peacefully on Thursday October 19, 2017 at Genesee Care Center in Grand Blanc. Born July 28, 1924 in Flint, MI, she is predeceased by her parents John Robert and Florence (Pennock) Barrett, her second husband Howard Dubie of Greenbush in 2004, and her first husband Ralph Dawson in 1972, as well as her siblings Elizabeth Sullivan, George Barrett, James Barrett, Richard Barrett, Robert Barrett, and Allen Barrett. Grace is survived by her four sons James Patrick (Cheryl), Michael Kevin (Louise), Thomas David (Paige) and John Robert Dawson, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Grace graduated from Flint Central HS in 1942, attended Michigan State College, and worked for General Motors Parts. She was a homemaker, active in her community and church, and a long time member of the Order of Eastern Star. Grace was a creative person, participating in school plays as a student, and totally immersed in family life raising her children who affectionately referred to their Mom as “Darla Disinfectant”. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Hill Funeral Home 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, MI. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am, with Funeral Service at 1:00 pm.
