Helen G Gray Woody

WOODY, Helen G. – Age 86, of Burton, went to be with her husband Robert on his birthday, Monday, November 28, 2011 at her home. Mrs. Woody was born October 9, 1925 in Flint the daughter of Harold and Vera (Buerger) Gray. Helen was a very active member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church serving on the Guild, singing in the choir, a Eucharistic Minister and working bingo. In her mid twenties Helen was a model with the Flint Society of Models. She worked at Standard Cotton, GISD, and retired from Mott Children’s Health Center. Helen was one of most caring, thoughtful and forgiving person her children have ever known. She met her husband Robert at Flint Community Players and he preceded her in death February, 2011. Surviving are her sons, Mike (Barb) Woody, John (Julann) Woody, grandchildren, Miles, Christina, Amanda and Michael; sister, Marian Hanel; longtime friend, Donna (Labosky) Ackerman. Mrs. Woody was also preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen Forshee. Friends may visit the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Brown Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2011 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 6336 Roberta St., Burton, MI. Father Carl Simon will officiate. Burial will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to thank Brian’s House for all of their care and support.
