The time spent with the people he loved was most important to him in life. As long as he was surrounded by his tribe he was happiest. Just 10 more minutes, just one more movie, just one more reason to stay longer. His large family has always brought him great comfort, pride, and always someone to talk to.
A lover of anything outdoors, Jack wouldn't think twice about another trip to go fishing, camping, or spending the day cooking out (now who's lighting one).
His quick witty humor and personality had a way of bringing laughter to the people around him. Creating memories that his family will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
High spirited, outdoor loving, and family oriented Jack will be missed beyond words. U of M football, the Lions, and a good UFC fight will never be the same without him.
Jack leaves behind his children: Amber Martin (Brandy), Kirsten Burrows (Corey), Allisa Burrows (Orion), Austin Burrows (Elizabeth), Bryanna Burrows (Joshua), and Bryce Burrows (Tobias).
Jack was also a proud grandfather to many grandchildren and even one great-grandchild.
He will be lovingly remembered by his brothers Steve LaFerney and Doug LaFerney (Debbie). Along with many nieces and nephews. He was especially close to his nephew Richie LaFerney.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Jack and Eunice Burrows; his beloved granddaughter Avah; his sisters Susan and Scharry; and his brothers Richard and Larry.
He didn’t always follow the conventional path, and that was exactly the point. He lived for the simple things in life, and did things his own way. We’ll miss his humor, his stories, his stubborn streak, and all the little things that made him uniquely him.
There will be a celebration of life honoring Jack. It will be held at Richfiled Park October 8th, 2026 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm.
