Jerry Dewey Daniels

Jerry Dewey Daniels, age 71, of Flint, died Sunday, October 25, 2020, at Ascension Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Donna; his two step-children: Charles (Christine) Tower, and Rebecca Tower; his two step-grandchildren: Carissa and Cameron; his four siblings: Evelyn (Reverend Lyle) Thompson, Dessie (Thomas) Welker, Lee (Bernice) Daniels, and Vagil Holden; and many other nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Jerry was born September 15, 1949, in Hulen, Kentucky, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Dewey and Martha (Ely) Daniels. He met Donna Tower while the two of them were working at competing flower shops in the Flint area; the two of them started dating, fell in love, and were married on June 26, 1991. Jerry worked at Anthony’s Florist and Bentley Florist in Genesee County, and eventually went on to become a real estate appraiser with Welker’s Appraising Company. Jerry was a valued member of the Bible Baptist Church in Flint, and valued his relationship with God deeply. In his free time, Jerry enjoyed riding his bicycle, going for walks, and working in his garden. He also had fond memories of traveling to the U.P. and taking trips to Myrtle Beach with his family. He was a wonderful man who will be greatly missed by many.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Martha; and his seven siblings: Arlus, Viola, Steve, Christine, L.J., Eugene, and Betty.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 29, 2020, at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 Hill Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan 48439. Jerry’s family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm, and again on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Pastor Dave Miller will officiate with burial to follow in West Vienna Cemetery, 5805-5999 W. Wilson Road, Clio, Michigan 48420. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions in Jerry’s name to Carriage Town Ministries. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
