Joan C. Newman

NEWMAN, Joan C. – of Grand Blanc, age 82, died August 1, 2012. Joan was born September 13, 1929 to Floyd and Flossie Harkness of Mt. Morris. She was a resident of Mt. Morris for 72 years before moving to Grand Blanc. Joan married Dale C. Newman on June 16, 1951. Dale preceded her in death on September 8, 2002. Surviving are their three children, Michael (Maureen) Newman, Denise (fiancé Tony Simmonds) Newman, and Barbara (Alex) Mulholland , grandchildren, Claire, Sally, Michael, Morgan (Zach), Braden, and Alan and great-grandchildren Max, Roman, and Cash. Joan enjoyed spending time at her home on Lake Charlevoix, her beloved golden retrievers Duke and Buffy, playing bridge, and entertaining family and friends. Family will receive visitors at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc on Thursday, August 2, 2012 from 12 to 8 pm. A memorial service will be held 11 am Friday, August 3, 2012 at the funeral home with Fr. Jay Gantz officiating.
