Jobe Edward Smith, age 69, passed away on Friday, March 26, 2026. Born in Chicago, Illinois on September 26, 1956, Jobe resided in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Jobe will be remembered as a brave man whose life reflected steady dedication and quiet strength.
For thirty years, Jobe served as a paramedic firefighter in Chicago, a career defined by commitment to others and the demanding responsibility of answering calls in moments when help was needed most. His long service stands as a meaningful part of his legacy.
Outside of work, Jobe found enjoyment and balance through the things he loved. He was devoted to bodybuilding and exercising, loved biking, and enjoyed music—especially R & B and the sounds of the 1970s. These interests brought him energy, routine, and pleasure, and they remain a warm part of how he will be remembered. Jobe will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Jobe leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of fourteen years, Cynthia; children Erica (Joaquin) Pozas, Nicholas Primak (Candice) and Perry Primak; grandchildren Olivia, Ezra, Jude and Aurelio Pozas, Marleigh, Dawson and Bobby Rae Primak; and many family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Jobe at a later date and time.
