HAVILAND II, JOHN G. a long time resident of Orchard Lake, MI, died Monday, August 13, 2012 at Homewood Village, Flint, MI. Graveside Services were held 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at the Highland Cemetery, Ypsilanti, MI. John was born February 26, 1914 in Ypsilanti, MI to parents John I and Ellen (Wortley) Haviland. John married Eleanor Hutson on October 12, 1940. He received his Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Michigan and was an active member of the Society of Automotive Engineers. John retired from General Motors, Fisher Body in 1975 after 37 years of service. Surviving are children John G. ( Katherine) Haviland III, Robert (Rachel) Haviland; grandchildren Karen (Steven) Wisinski, Scott ( Elena) Haviland, Jayne (James) West, Bryce (Kayla) Haviland; 4 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife Eleanor in 2002; parents and sister Susan Haviland McCulloch.
