Joseph Michael Root

Born on August 20, 1976 in Flint, Michigan to William and Katherine Root, Joseph later served his country with the United States Army in the 82nd Airborne and had a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry. He had an absolute passion for gardening, composting, survival techniques, and spending time outdoors. His biggest love was spending time with his family.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Jessica Root; children: Aaron Root, Brandon (Allison) Root, Allison Root, Kaydance Porter, Maygen Porter, and Gracie Preston; granddaughter, Melody Root; parents, William and Katherine Root; siblings: Sarah Georgiou and Andrew Root; sister-in-laws: Andrea Hammel, Karen (Dave) Philbrick, Alishea (Rod) Schuch; brother-in-law, Gregory Spence; in-laws: Richard Hammel, Debra Hammel, and Darold Spencer; nieces and nephews: Alexis, Autumn, Danielle, Michael, George, Nicholas, Blake, William, and Zoe; great-niece, Anna Georgiou; along with many extended family members and friends.

The family will greet guests from 1:00pm until 8:00pm on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc. A Celebration of Joseph's Life will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at the above location. Interment with military honors following at Evergreen Cemetery.
