
Josephine B. Roe – Age 93, of Flint, died Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Genesee Care Center. Mrs. Roe was born November 26, 1922 in Home Twp., Michigan the daughter of William and Lottie Hoffmaster. She enjoyed longtime friends, golfing trips and vacations, where the men hit the course and the gals relaxed. Josephine enjoyed following and supporting her children’s careers and often appeared on site when appropriate. She enjoyed watching all sports including, Detroit Tigers Baseball, Detroit Red Wings and Flint Generals Hockey, Tennis, Golf and the Olympic Games. She also enjoyed movies and keeping up the national and local news events. Josephine had developed and kept many friendships that were so important to her. Bill and Norma Simmons, Bill Whitlow, Debby and Dan Smith, Debby Downing, Ken Thompson and countless others, too many to mention, that touched her life that we are forever grateful. She had worked at Ternstedts, Fenton Econo Wash and Davison Rd. Laundromat. On August 18, 1950 Josephine married Duffle Avery (D.A.) Roe and he preceded her in death on December 4, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, two brothers and one sister. Surviving are two daughters, Marlene (Bence) and Michael Green, of Tucson, Arizona, Diane Roe of Flint, Michigan. One son Robert and Lori Roe of Flint, Michigan. One granddaughter, Christine. Two brothers-in-law, Neil and Denise Roe of Slave Lake, Alberta, Canada, Joe and Kathy DeFord of Flint, Michigan. The family would like to thank all the medical personnel whom have taken tremendous care of Josephine, especially during the last 25 years, Dr. Gilin, Dr. Pank, Dr. Walker, Dr. Rohr, Dr. Lafia and their respective staffs. We remember the late Dr. John Damm and his staff for their wonderful care to our entire family. A Memorial Service will be held at the Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc, MI Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 2 p.m. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Genesee County Humane Society.
