November 25, 1943 – December 26, 2020
Karen Sue Hook passed away on December 26, 2020, at the age of 77 years
Loving and devoted mother of Brian D. Bostic of Anderson, IN., Todd (Jane) M. Hook of Brighton, MI., and Tricia (Eric) L. Guffey of Grand Blanc, MI; grandmother of Jeremy, Courtney, Jordan, Haley, Jack, Kyle, Keegan, and Luke; great- grandmother to Mikayla, Kendel, Maren, and Kamryn; sister of David Hughes, Rhonda (Rex) Garringer, Sharla (Jay) Purciful, and the late Mike (Linda) Hughes; daughter of Richard and the late Edna Hughes of Anderson, IN.
Karen was born and raised in Anderson, Indiana. For many years she worked in the Hospitality field at the Frankenmuth Motor Lodge and later Cracker Barrel. She loved interacting with the guests and spending time with her coworkers, some of which became her best friends.
Karen resided the last several years at the Dauner Haus in Fenton, MI where she was popular among the residence. She loved spending time with her resident friends playing bingo, watching movies, socializing, sharing their arts and crafts, and just taking care of each other.
Karen was a dedicated Mother first and foremost. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy and her true motivation in life was spending time with them. She spent countless hours at ball games, concerts, babysitting, dog sitting, and attended many graduations. Her true success and wealth in life was her family and the pride she took in raising them. No matter her situation, she would always laugh or be smiling.

Well bestie? We can’t choose the people who we share blood lines with, but sometimes we are blessed and God brings people who need a new sister together. We both lost Shawn a year ago and fell into being each other’s comfort. I am so grateful for the being blessed to have been another, angel that was my true soul sister for a short while. I miss the laughter, and our all night conversations, and never will forget the shopping! We had fun, and more. When I think of you, I will miss you, but I will be along soon. I miss you, LITTLE BIT. BJ..

Dearest Todd and Tricia, I remember the first time I spoke to your mom. She had so much joy and love in her voice. She was eager to know more about me and your brother Brent. She shared about her love for her children and offered to help me in any way she could. She was always available for her family and loved all so deeply. I am so sorry you have had to say goodbye so suddenly 🙏🏼 I know she is with Jesus waiting for you all to rejoice with her someday ❤️

Things will not be the same without you, but you would want us to push on and keep a positive attitude. I’ll share all the good memories you created.
Thanks for always being proud of me and my family. I sure am proud you are my Mom

My Mom, such a gracious soul. She was always thinking of others before herself. Everyone I talk to tells me how much she loved her children and grandchildren. My heart hurts and I miss you terribly, but I take comfort knowing you are dancing again. Miss hearing your voice, seeing your smile, and hearing your laugh. Love you Mom ❤ Your Daughter.

Our sister, Karen, loved hard, worked hard, and gave all she had to her kids and grandkids!!
She cherished family gatherings and loved to laugh and enjoy those around her as often as she could. She left us way to soon but the sweet memories of her loving, giving life will always remain with us!
Karen, your joy is full and your pain is gone. Because of the Amazing Grace of Jesus, we’ll see you on the other side!!
Love you always!!❤️

May you all be comforted knowing Karen thought the world of her children and grandchildren. She always had a good word about you and was so happy to be with you. I was around her at family gatherings and she showed me how helpful and caring a person she was. I will remember her for her kindness and great laugh. May you find strength in remembering her and the good times you all had together. Denny Rice
