Linda graduated from Southwest Academy in Flint and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from Central Michigan University and a Master’s Degree from Oakland University. She dedicated more than twenty years to her students and colleagues as an elementary teacher at North Branch Elementary, bringing patience, care, and purpose to the work of shaping young lives.
Above all, Linda loved her family. She cherished her children, Bethany (Jeremy) Folland and Brigit (Joe) Convery, and took special joy in spoiling her grandchildren, Ian and Hannah Folland. After the loss of her beloved husband, Bernie, she continued to be a steady presence—one whose love and attentiveness were felt in the everyday moments that mattered most.
Linda’s interests were as warm and welcoming as her home. She loved traveling and crafts, and she had a special fondness for cats; often experiencing that the “cat distribution system” always seemed to send cats her way.
A lifetime member of the Girl Scouts, Linda served as a leader and trainer, giving generously of her time and experience. She also volunteered at the Recycling Center in Lapeer. A devout Catholic, she lived her faith with sincerity and commitment and was a member of Family and Community Education (FCE).
Linda is survived by her children Bethany (Jeremy) Folland and Brigit (Joe) Convery; grandchildren Ian and Hannah Folland; siblings Brenda (Bob) Payne, Greg Lesiewicz, Dennis (Sherri) Lesiewicz, and Mike Lesiewicz; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bernie; her parents Bernard and Genevive; and her brother Bernard (Les) Lesiewicz and his wife Connie.
