Libby was born in Flint, Michigan, on November 8th 1951, to Richard and Mary (Hackett) Chimner. She attended St. John Vianney School, where she was known as the girl who was always kind. She participated in Junior Achievement, where she met her future husband, Mike Yancho, whom she married in 1970.
She loved gardening, reading, and bowling, and bowled on several leagues for years. She was an accomplished seamstress and created clothing, costumes, and other items for her children and granddaughters. She enjoyed playing bingo and euchre.
Libby spent 30 years at Financial Plus Credit Union, beginning as an intern after earning her Associate's degree in accounting. Many coworkers fondly remember her as a friend, trusted union steward, and mentor.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She fully supported her children and grandchildren in their chosen sports and arts. She happily hosted holiday celebrations and helped her siblings organize lakeside family getaways and canoe trips. Her love and pride for her granddaughters can hardly be expressed, but she did whenever she had the chance.
Libby is lovingly remembered by her husband Mike, son Mike Jr., and his wife Traci, daughter Christina, and her partner Kennedy Pardee; granddaughters Delphina, Danica, and Emerie; siblings Cynthia (Carl) Kerchmar, Scott (Amy) Chimner, Michael (Rhonda) Chimner, Gregory (Gina) Chimner, Theresa Chimner Bray (Ken Wood); her nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
A private memorial will be held at a later date. Donations in Libby's name may be made to FISH of Grand Blanc by sending to PO Box 367, Grand Blanc, Michigan, 48480.
