Lorraine Ann Senecal

Grand Blanc, Michigan - Lorraine A Senecal, 90, died July 23, 2025 in Hospice Care at Serene Gardens of Grand Blanc, Michigan. Born in Albany, New York, she was the oldest daughter of the late John and Florence (Merkle) Vroman.

Lorraine graduated from Vincentian Institute in Albany, NY in1952. Upon graduation she went to work at the NY Telephone Company in Albany, NY. After moving to Midland, MI (1980) with her husband Douglas, she worked at Northwood University in the University Library and Historical Records. She retired from there in June of 2011.

Lorraine married Douglas L. Senecal in 1957 in Albany, NY and was the dear wife of 35 years to Douglas L. Senecal, who passed away in 1992. Together they have one daughter Karen (Dr Daniel) Briskie of Grand Blanc, MI and a son Douglas Jr (Pam) of The Villages, Fl. Lorraine has 3 grandchildren: Amy (Eric) Hampton of Grand Blanc, MI, Dr Daniel II (Tina) of Thornton, CO and Ashley (Zach) Poznanski of Dundee, MI. Lorraine has 2 great grandchildren, Austin and Ava Hampton of Grand Blanc, MI. She had a sister of 72 years, Janet (Darrell) Burns from Loudonville, NY and has a brother John Vroman Jr (Mary) from Clifton Park, NY.

She enjoyed camping as a child with her family in Fish Creek Pond Campground, NY. Lorraine and her husband Douglas enjoyed their summer residence in Upper Saranac Lake, NY with family. She was a happy person who loved to be social, have parties, travel with a great sense of humor. Mostly she enjoyed seeing all her family, especially her 3 grandchildren and great-grandchildren never missing a family event. She would travel every year to enjoy Stratford Shakespeare Festival and Shaw Festivals in Canada.

Funeral services will be Private, Family only.
