

Lyndon Howard Ford, 79, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on May 11, 2023 at Wellbridge of Grand Blanc. Lyndon was born June 12, 1943 in North Branch, MI to Howard and Jean (Weir) Ford, and was the eldest of their three children. He graduated from North Branch High School in 1962 and then attended Michigan State University. He majored in History at MSU, graduating in 1967. He remained a devout MSU fan throughout his entire life.
After college, Lyndon diligently served as a public servant for over 36 years with the federal government for the Social Security Administration. He spent his entire career serving the community from the Flint, MI Social Security office.
Lyndon enjoyed watching MSU sports, especially with his son Tony, a fellow MSU grad. He was also a lifelong Detroit Tigers fan. He was an avid history enthusiast and had a wealth of knowledge. He rarely lost a game of Trivia Pursuit or was outperformed at Jeopardy.
Lyndon cared deeply about his family, consistently showing generosity to his children and grandchildren. He also personally cared for two rescued cats and contributed to the care of many more.
He is survived by his son Anthony Ford, his daughter and son-in-law Andrea Ford Peterson and Mark Peterson, his grandchildren Andrew (Sarah) Ford, Noah Ford, Jude Ford (Jesse Zuravskij), and Grace Ford, great grandchildren Palmer and Sawyer Ford, former wife of 27 years Janet Barden, sister Karen Ford, and brother Leland (Judy) Ford, all from Michigan.
He joins his father, mother, grandparents, and beloved pets in the afterlife.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Michigan State University's Alumni Chapel in East Lansing, MI.
