Interment at Glenwood Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 11am Saturday, July 23rd at First Presbyterian Church, 746 S. Saginaw St., in downtown Flint. Dr. Joseph Novak will officiate. The family will receive friends at 10am at the Church.
Marcia was born in Flint, Michigan on January 19th, 1927 to Charles A. “Red” Mullin and Dorothy Harris Mullin. She graduated from Flint Central High School in 1944. She attended & received her Associate’s Degree from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree from Michigan State University in 1948. She taught elementary school at Civic Park & Potter Elementary School in Flint and taught in Grand Rapids, Michigan as well. She then moved to Middletown, CT to join American Education Publications, specifically the Weekly Reader Newspaper for children. She subsequently returned to Flint where she joined WFBE Radio, script writing for several radio programs used in the classroom. She married Robert Allen Green, Jr (Bob) on July 2nd, 1960. They shared 34 ½ happy years together until his death in 1995.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she served as a choir mother & sang in the Chancel Choir for 20 years. She was a member of St. Cecilia Society and volunteered at the Sloan Museum Archives, Flint Institute of Music, and Flint Institute of Arts. She was known for her sense of humor, love of the outdoors, love of music, and working in the kitchen. She was deeply devoted to her family & friends. She put in a letter she wrote a few years ago – “I’ve had a great life! Thanks for making it so.”
Marcia is survived by daughter Betsy Green of Chicago, Illinois, son Alex Allen Green of Columbus, Ohio, niece Cindy Mullin, great niece Chelsea Mullin, great nephew Oliver Mullin, all of Atlanta, Georgia, too many friends to name.
