Martha Ann Ray

RAY, Martha Ann – of Burton, age 77, passed away Monday, September 20, 2010 at Genesys Hospice. Funeral services will be held 11 am Friday, September 24, 2010 at the Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, MI with Rev. James Offrink officiating. Burial follows at Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Genesys Hospice Care Center. Mrs. Ray was born June 26, 1933 in Hudson, Michigan. She graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 1950 and attended Mt. Ida College in Newton Center, Mass. Martha married Gerald Ray on August 11, 1952 in Flint, Michigan. She enjoyed family vacations, reading, fishing, and going to the casinos. She loved watching her grandchildren’s sporting events and had been active as a home room mother when her children were little. Surviving are: children, Richard and wife Denise, Roger and wife Lois, and Christine VanHeyningen; grandchildren, Chrystal and husband Jeremy Walters, Karen Ray, Cheryl Ray, Ryan Ray and Jeniffer Ray; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Nadyne Hagon; brothers, David Hart and Louis Hart and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Ray was preceded in death by her: husband, Gerald Ray; son, Randall Ray; brother, Michael Hart; brother-in-law, Herb Hagon and sister-in-law, Mary Kay Hart.
