Matthew B. Metzger – Age 86, died Friday, December 26, 2014 at Genesys Health Park. Mr. Metzger was born January 2, 1928 in Flint the son of the late Matthew and Evelyn Metzger. He served his country during W.W.II with the U.S. Navy. Matthew was a member of the Eagles and Knights of Columbus. He had worked as a truck driver for Century Beverage. Surviving are his former wife Patricia Metzger; children, Christine (Edward) Leiss, Pamela Metzger (Patty Woodward), Toni (Michael) Popilek, Matthew (Sandra) Metzger, Dawn (Joel) Bye, Laura (Robert) Berry, Tricia (Steven) Steffen, Donald Metzger; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Metzger was also preceded in death by his son, David Metzger and 7 brothers and sisters. As were his wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Father Thomas Firestone will officiate.
