May 3, 1958 — Oct 28, 2026
Matthew David Turner, born May 3, 1958, in Flint, Michigan, passed away on October 28, 2026.
Matthew will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and a happy, funny, dry-witted man who brought warmth to those around him. He was especially close to his siblings and enjoyed spending time with them as the youngest boy in the family. His steady nature, sense of humor, and love for the people around him shaped the way he lived and the way he will be remembered.
He attended Grand Blanc High School and went on to build a long and dedicated career in the airline industry. He began at Piedmont, which was later bought out by U.S. Airlines and eventually became American Airlines. After 31 years of service, he retired from American Airlines, leaving behind a career marked by commitment and hard work.
Matthew found joy in simple and meaningful things. He loved fishing, gardening, and spending time outdoors and at camp. Some of the happiest memories shared by his family are of time spent on his boat, fishing with his children. Those moments reflected what mattered most to him: being with the people he loved and enjoying life together.
He shared 39 years with his loving wife, Amy Turner, and together they built a life centered on family. In addition to Amy, he is survived by his mother Carolyn Turner, his daughter, Samantha Turner, and his son, Patrick Turner. He is also survived by his brother Bill Turner and sister-in-law Sue Turner; his brother Michael Turner and sister-in-law Maria Turner; his sister Teresa Conquest and brother-in-law Jeff Conquest; and his sister Donna Elkins and brother-in-law Jim Elkins. He leaves behind a family who knew his love, his humor, and the comfort of his presence.
Matthew was preceded in death by his father, William Turner; and his sons, David Turner, Eric Turner, and Baby Thomas Turner.
Matthew David Turner will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on in the time shared with family, in quiet days outdoors, and in the lasting love he gave so freely.
A visitation for Matthew will be held on Monday, November 16, at 5:00 PM, with rosary prayers starting at 6:00 PM. This will take place at Hill Funeral Home, located at 11723 S. Saginaw St, Grand Blanc, MI.
