Melba J. Dempsey

Melba J. Dempsey, age 90, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018. She was born on January 12, 1928 in Kemp, Texas to the late Earl Bob and Myrtle (Johnson) Dosier. Melba loved quilting and sewing, and she even had her own alteration business. She was kind hearted and was always there for anyone who needed her. She loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. All who knew Melba will miss her dearly. Melba is survived by her children: Jeannie (Dick) Zrakovi, Jodie (Roger) Jimenez, Michael (Beverly) Dempsey, and Jan (Chuck) Anderson; 7 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren, and some great-great grandchildren; brother, Jack Dosier; sister, Jill (Jack) Jackson. She was preceded in death by husband, James “Mike” Dempsey; siblings: Joe Dosier, Katherine Haddox, R.B. Dosier, and Gladys Orrell. The family would like to give special thanks to Vanessa, Melba’s caregiver and friend, for her continuous care and compassion. A funeral service will take place at 1pm on Monday, May 7, 2018 at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11am until the time of service. Interment at Flint Memorial Park. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Stroke Foundation.
