

age 84, died Sunday, October 23, 2011 at the Genesys Regional Medical
Center. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 27, 2011 at
the Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, MI. Rev. Daniel
Hayton (nephew of Mildred) officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 P.M. at
Byron Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. and
Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Mildred was born August 29, 1927 in
Byron, MI to Dallas and Ada (McCaslin) Hibbard. Her family of 7 siblings
remained close throughout her life. She attended Eastern Michigan
University, where she earned a teaching degree in Home Economics. While
there, she met and then married John Silvio Moliassa in 1948 and remained
married for 62 years. She taught in the Genesee and the Flint Community
School. She also worked as the Adult Program Director at the YWCA.
Mildred always extended a helping hand to not only her students and
family, but to many others as well. Surviving are husband John; children
John (Ann) Moliassa, Marie (Jim) Elias, Jim (Sherry) Moliassa, Mary (Dan)
Hocken, Rosemary (Edward) Reason, Arnold Moliassa, Richard (Nancy)
Moliassa, Melvin (Lindy) Moliassa, Grace (Rob) Leinen; 22 grandchildren;
15 great-grandchildren; siblings Lamar (Muriel), Orlo (Gloria), Arlis
(Robert), Laura Plekes, and MaryLou Hibbard. She was deeply loved and
will be sorely missed by all. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents,
and siblings Bryan and Leolen. In lieu of flowers, the family requests
contributions be made to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, in memory of
Mildred, who gave so freely to others in need.
