Nihla Maxine Hall

Nihla was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts to Bernard Fred Smith and Wilma Pearl (Blain) Smith on July 30, 1943. She graduated from Waterford High School in 1961. In July of 1964, Nihla married the love of her life, William.

Nihla loved Jesus with her whole heart, and was always sharing His goodness with others. She loved creating memories with her family and enjoyed spending time near the water or at the beach. She adored her family, celebrating their birthdays and hosting family events.

Nihla was the best homemaker, and even customized her own chocolate and peanut butter fudge recipes, which was a family favorite. Nihla, who some knew as Tootsie, was a loving person who will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who had the privilege to know her.

Nihla leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband of almost 59 years, William Hall; children Cindy (Leo) McCann of Clio, MI, Tammi (Michael) Greer of Jenison, MI, Brenda (Murray) Taylor of Elmira Ont. Canada, Anna (Rick) Quirin of Parrish, FL and Janice (Paul) Nemitz of Ormond Beach, FL; grandchildren Preston Morrow (Crystal), Erik Greer (Lindsay), on Alysha Clow (Tyler), Rachael Sykes (Auston), Rebecca Taylor, Kyle Greer, Chantel Taylor, Andrew McCann, Grant Nemitz, Katelyn Taylor, Kade Nemitz and Judah Quirin; great grandchildren Elijah Greer, Michael Sykes, Asher Sykes and Baby Greer; siblings Eula Scott of Ocola, FL, Bernard (BJ) Smith of Pinckney, MI, Duane Smith of Pontiac, MI, Terry Smith of Interlachen, FL, Marc Smith of Interlachen, FL, Joyce Smith Howard of Lake Michigan, Douglas Smith of Lake Michigan and Kristina Smith of St. Augustine, FL; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

Nihla is preceded in death by her parents Bernard Fred and Wilma Pearl Smith, son Erik Hall, brothers Warren Lee Smith, Lynn Hall, Everett Smith (Butch), and Rex Smith.

A visitation for Nihla will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Brown Funeral Home - 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc, MI followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Nihla will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Grand Blanc, MI.
