Dear Family,

My condolences to all.  There isn’t much I can say that hasn’t already been said.  

Some people will forget what you said,
Some people will forget what you did,
But people will never forget
How you made them feel.

Where do i begin? Pablo was a wonderful man who made a difference not only in our family but in this world! He has been in our lives for about 18 years..  Knowing that he is no longer here brings pain into my heart! Pablo and my mother were engaged for several several years.  He was a part of our family. Ever since that day, it's hard not to hear from him or just have him pop up.  My heart goes out to his family and it does sadden me that we finally met but under these conditions.  Pablo was a fiance, step-father, grandfather and god-father as well was a brother-in-law to our family.. Everyone knew him!  He and my mother were best friends..  When you seen one, you seen the other. Pablo you are missed.  Gone but never forgotten!  My you R.I.P!  God Bless and Love you!

God, Family, Country
 These are the things Dad believed in.  Not only did he speak it, he lived it.
 He showed his love for God, his family, & his country every day..by example, by doing things to help others, little gestures, helping one of us at a time.  It didn’t have to be big, but it ended up that way...because Dad would contact the paper :)  But it wasn’t for his own recognition, it was to recognize the cause he was trying to make us all aware of. 
 Dad showed his love for God, his family, and his country without boasting or bragging, and without preaching.  He served with humility.  He wasn’t afraid to cry about the things in life he wished he would’ve done differently.
 He was humble, yet so, so proud.  He accepted and loved all of us for who we are, just as we are.
 I am being flooded with my own memories and by hearing many of your stories I see clearly now, more than ever, that it is God...all God...why we are good to each other - one gesture at a time.
 Never did a visit or a phone call go by without Dad saying he loved us and his grandchildren. 
 Let us all learn from him.
 I don’t think Dad ever did anything thinking he would impact so many people’s lives...he just did it.
Writing to the veterans was something that Dad would gently suggest.  Never making anyone do it....just letting us know that the veterans really enjoyed the letters, since many of them don’t have family to visit them.
 
Please keep Pablo’s passion alive and write to a veteran.

What a terrible loss for all of you! Whenever I ran into Rich, he was always so happy, always doing good things, always positive.  He was a great classmate throughout our years at St. Agatha's and Owengage HS.  I'm so sorry this has happened to him.

We have fond memories of the last time we spent with "Grampa Lopez". (He always called us Grampa & Gramma since Trace was born)  That last time together was July 4th weekend around  the bonfire at Paul & Rita's house. Please remember how much he embraced life and the great contributions he made.  Your dad was much more then a man.  He was a dedicated patriot, loving son, brother and friend.  A proud Hispanic man, influential force for the people and most importantly your father.  His passion for life and kindness resonates in you.  His love for you was evident; he beamed with pride when with you, your kids, or even when speaking of you. As a Veteran, and as the son of and father of Veterans, I mourn the loss of this wonderful and unique man. My deepest sympathy for his family.

Pablo was a wonderful person. Always glad to see you and ask how is your family, only it was always sincere. He was very active in many things but always had time for you. He is an important voice for Flint always  willing to fight for others rights. Pablo will be deeply missed by many. My prayers and sincere sympathy  goes to all who he has ever Blessed.

I am so sorry for this loss.  I first met Pablo at a Flint City Council Meeting where he was promoting the veterans. He gave me a list of people who were in the Veterans Hospital. I had my Sunday School Class make cards for the people on the list and Pablo was so happy. We knew each other after that! This is a terrible loss.  I am so sorry.

Pablo was an incredible man. He was passionate about what he believed in. And he believed in us the Hispanic community, in Flint, our youth, the people of the community in which he lived and volunteered at and always family. Pablo spent many hours helping or doing for others and to make our lives and community better. We should all be dedicated as he was and honor his memory by continuing in his belief for a better way of life by giving back to our community. It was a pleasure to know Pablo and to work along side of him when we volunteered in Hispanic community events. He will be missed, but not forgotten. My condolences to his loved ones and may all the wonderful memories of Pablo comfort you during this difficult time and know that he influenced so many people in a positive way. You were truly blessed to have him as your father, brother, uncle, grandfather and most of all a true friend.

Our dear uncle worked tirelessly to better his community, yet he always enjoyed and took pride in helping the veterans.  When we would see each other, Uncle Rich and I would salute each other, accompanied by a solid hand-shake and big hug.  The Chisholm family will surely miss him and his positive attitude. Pablo Lopez was a great man.I served him every Sunday afternoon as he would come to Atlas Coney Island,him and Maria.I loved his company,such a funny man,well liked by all.I am saddened to see this.I enjoyed serving him,as I got to know him,his order,what he liked and what he didnt like.My thoughts and prayers are with his familia during this hard time.

This man would have helped anyone who needed it, he was a good union man who cared for everyone no matter their idealogys. Truly missed and thank you for everything you done to make this life better.

My deepest sympathy to Pablo's family. I met him when he came into our therapy clinic 3 different times. He was always friendly to us. He usually talked the whole time he was there but always had kind words of
encouragement to the other patients around him. We will miss him very much.

I am a member of Local 599 with your Dad at Buick. I had not seen him in a long time but he was a person that once you met him, you would not forget him !! He always had a smile and a tidbit of knowledge for me. He was a good man! May your memories help you through the days ahead.

To the family of Pablo Lopez,  I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your loved one.  I worked with Pablo at Buick and he was a wonderful, kind, and cheerful man who always had a kind word to say about everyone.  He will be sorely missed.

We know words are not much comfort at a time like this, but please know that you are in our thoughts and hearts as you go through this sad time.

Pablo Lopez was a wonderful man that has touched so many people's lives. He's the God-Father of my child and was pretty much a grandfather to myself as well as my children. Words can't describe the void we have in our lives without him. Pablo I know your'e in Heaven watching down on us. We love and miss you dearly.

We are so sorry for your loss. Jose, your father sounds like an incredible person. He most certainly affected positively the lives of countless people during his lifetime. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Love  to you and your family.

You won't know me, but I met your father/grandfather while marching for single payer health care in downtown Flint. He was a wonderful man, dedicated to others and our community will be the poorer for his loss. All my sympathy, sincerely Mrs. Jan Bruce.

To the friends and family of Mr. Pablo Lopez:

I had the good fortune to know Pablo for many, many years.  He was a regular caller to my radio talk show. Mr. Lopez often used the program as a platform to champion causes dealing with veterans, Latinos and various civil rights groups.  He was a man of great passion and worked tirelessly on behalf of people he felt wronged!

Often he would visit my office to improve my learning curve on various civic matters he felt I was deficient in.  He would lobby me to examine various issues he believed needed attention in Mid-Michigan.  He sometimes could even be a little difficult with his non stop persistence.  However, when I would get most exasperated with his tirade, he would deliver a piece of information that would prove his point and convince me to take a closer look.  I enjoyed our debates and more times then not, he was right.  He was right because his heart was right!

Pablo Lopez was not bashful.  He gave a voice to the voiceless and was never afraid to take on the establishment.  Nobody better lived the adage, “If you stand for nothing, you’ll fall for anything”. 

Finally, I most appreciated his noble work on behalf of migrant farm workers and his loyal support of Caesar Chavez.  If my memory serves me correctly, he was instrumental in helping Flint become the first city in the nation to name a street in President Chavez’s honor.  Hopefully, he leaves in his wake the words of Brother Chavez, “Si Se puede”! YES you can.  

Especially now, Flint needs more Pablo Lopez’s’!  Flint needs more people who appose violence and stand tall for fundamental human rights.  The death of Pablo affects more then just the east side of Flint.  It affects so many people who have lost a champion.

I did not have the honor of meeting Mr. Lopez, but he had become friends with my parents recently, working with them at their church.  When my dad was in rehab in a nursing home recently, he came to visit and also visited them at their home.  They had nothing but nice things to say about him.
