Patricia “Pat” G. Carpenter, age 68, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 17, 2016 with her family by her side. She was born on May 10, 1947 in Detroit to parents Roy and Gail Blair. Pat attended Redford Union High and was a faithful parishioner at Southfield Community Church during her early years. She retired as an office manager from Periodontal Specialists in Grand Blanc. Pat was a lifelong member of Companion Dog Training Club of Flint, where she taught obedience classes. Over the period of 30 years, she helped so many dog owners successfully become best friends with their dogs. Pat was a high demand dog trainer and has earned too many titles to list. She never did anything with dogs for the money, it was all for the love of her furry friends. Throughout her life, Pat was involved in a variety of activities and approached each one passionately. From dog obedience and breeding to bird watching and Bible studies, Pat would continually impress those around her with her deep knowledge and drive for continued learning. In many arenas, she was viewed as a mentor and advocate. Patricia is survived by her loving husband, Charles Carpenter; sons: Adam Kirk and Aaron (Dareth) Kirk; grandchildren: Holden, Lydia, Jocalyn, Uriah, Brennan, and Jaxon. Throughout her life, Pat was honored to be a step-mother to Ian (Denise) Carpenter, Nicole Carry, and Nathan Carry. Pat is also survived by her sister, Sandy (Andy) Ylisto; brothers-in-law: Ken, Denny, and Tom; sister-in-law: Susan; her beloved Malinois: Ziva and Azar, and two rescue beagles: Punkin and Kenzie. A funeral service will take place at 11am on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Mount Hope Church of Grand Blanc (8363 Embury Rd., Grand Blanc). Visitation will be held on Monday, March 21, 2016 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Hill Funeral Home (11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc) and on Tuesday at church, one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10am. Interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
