On September 10, 2026, our hearts filled with sorrow with the passing of a very special mother. Peggy passed peacefully in the comfort of her home, at the age of 88. As we mourn our mother’s passing, the glow of a mother’s love will carry us through the years, until we meet again. We loved her dearly and will sleep a little easier knowing she will be watching us on our journey through life.
Peggy was born November 22, 1937 in Flint, Michigan & graduated from Mandeville High School in 1955. Moving to Grand Blanc in the mid 60’s to raise her family, she spent the remainder of her life, 61 years, in the Grand Blanc community, cultivating friendships, raising her children, spending time with her grandchildren & extended family, tending to her flower beds and birds, & enjoying the outdoors from the front porch of her home. She loved life & lived it to the fullest, smiling through it all.
She was a member of several organizations throughout the years, including ABWA, IBG’s, La Tah NI, & a member of Kirkridge Presbyterian Church for 26 years. She retired from General Motors as a benefit representative and payroll accountant in 1997.
Peggy was a woman of strong convictions who brought a touch of light to all the lives she touched. As she takes her place among God’s angels, she joins her parents Berneda (Gorton) & Peter Wagner, very special brother, Robert Wagner, niece Delynn Bolanowski and many other loved family members and dear friends.
Surviving are her children, son Bruce of Grand Blanc, daughters Karen of Howell, & Laura (Steve) Lonergan of White Lake; special and much-loved grandchildren Aaron, Nate & Riley; sister Kathy (Mike) Forest, sister-in-law Patricia Wagner; nieces Teresa (Steve) Boyd, Kim Williams and Victoria Griggs; nephews Martin (Lisa) Wagner, Paul (Julie) Christman, and Vince Bolanowski.
She will be remembered by her extended family as the keeper of the family legacy, taking an active part in family genealogy and pursuing the family history, having family reunions to keep her 42 first cousins in touch with each other. She also leaves behind many special and dear friends, whose friendship she treasured, as well as her beloved dog Sadie and cat Lightening.
In lieu of flowers to honor Peggy’s memory, donations to the following organizations would make her smile: All About Animals Rescue (Flint), Shriners Children’s Hospital, or Bird Center of Michigan (Saline).
Visitation will be held at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St. in Grand Blanc, Wednesday, September 16th, 4-7pm. Funeral service will take place at Kirkridge Presbyterian Church, Thursday, September 17th, with visitation beginning at 11am and service at 12pm. A luncheon will follow the service at Hill Funeral Home.
