A proud Navy veteran, Peter served his country with honor and devotion, including service aboard the USS Forrestal. His patriotism was unwavering and sincere, reflected not only in his years of military service but also in the deep respect he carried throughout his life for those who served and sacrificed.
Following his military service, Peter worked for General Motors for 15 years, where he was known for his dedication, loyalty, and strong work ethic. He brought the same reliability and commitment to his career that characterized every aspect of his life.
Peter found joy in life's simple and enduring pleasures. A lifelong Detroit Lions fan, he faithfully supported his team through every season. Later in life, he discovered a passion for golf and spent many happy hours on the course at Arrowhead Golf Club, where he also enjoyed serving as a ranger. A talented woodworker, Peter took great pride in creating handcrafted gifts for family members, sharing both his skill and his love through every piece he made.
He also cherished traveling the country with his beloved wife, Colleen, in their motor home. Together they explored the United States, formed lasting friendships with fellow travelers, and created countless memories along the way. Those journeys brought them great happiness and reflected their shared spirit of adventure and companionship.
Above all, Peter was a devoted family man. He expressed his love through his constant presence, never missing an important event and always offering a helping hand whenever needed. Whether attending a birthday party, cheering from the sidelines at a ballgame, or simply showing up when family needed him most, "Uncle Pete" could always be counted on. His steady support, warm smile, and dependable presence left a lasting impression on all who knew and loved him.
Peter is survived by his beloved wife, Colleen; his sister, Theresa; and many nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory and carry forward the love, kindness, and example he shared throughout his life.
Peter is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Agnes Giannangeli, brother Richard and sister Henrietta.
