It is with a tremendous sense of loss and sadness that the Gardner family shares the passing of our beloved son, brother, and uncle Randall (Randy) Lynn Gardner, who passed away peacefully in his sleep Thanksgiving Day. Randy was such a special man who was beloved by many~his immediate family, his extended family in Puerto Rico, his longtime friends from high school, and his newest friends from Del Webb. Randy had a way of bringing out the best in everyone. Despite his physical challenges and disabilities, Randy earned his bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University and worked in computer programming for 30 years. He lived independently his entire adult life and enjoyed many activities such as swimming almost daily and riding his three wheeled bike through Woodfield Subdivision. Randy was an avid sports fan, cheering on his favorites~the Detroit Lions and the Detroit Tigers. His personal holidays were the NFL Draft, the Tigers Opening Day, college football Saturdays, and NFL Sundays. He also looked forward to his annual trip with his big brother to see the Lions play at the Silverdome and Ford Field. He amassed an impressive collection of sports memorabilia throughout his life.
Randy leaves behind his father and mother, Robert & Paula Gardner, his big brother Robert Gardner Jr. and wife Keri, his little sister Sharon Burnor and husband Jim, and nephews Matt Burnor and wife Hannah, Jerod Gardner and wife Jenna, and nieces Maria Gamrat (Burnor) and husband Shane, Cassidy Meza (Gardner) and husband Anthony, and great nieces Kennedy Burnor and Kara Burnor, and two more babies on the way, and his beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins from Puerto Rico. He also leaves behind special friends Jim Kehus, and his buddies Randy and Steve from Del Webb. A special thank you to Sheryl for all her love and care.
