We were so sorry to hear of Pete's passing. We purchased his beautiful home he built on Lake Ogemaw and treasure all the hard work and landscaping and stories he told us about the area when he first bought the property. We had a nice talk as he was packing up his trailer at Lake Ogemaw last summer and he was tickled that my son was attending MSU as he was wearing his MSU ballcap. He was sad to leave the Lake area; he loved it up there. He will never leave our thoughts as we cherish every nail he hammered into our home and is a legend at Lake Ogemaw.

George,Lorene and Linda,
Words can never express your loss. You can all be so proud of your father, he did so much for everyone and I don't think there was anything he couldn't do. I mostly remember the days when we were young with him in the apple orchard. Always at work and doing something. Then the days at the camp in the UP. Never forget the time I drove him up to our deer camp in my S-10 Chevy during a snow storm, it was a great trip, he kept me awake driving and we saw the biggest buck ever just east of Munising. Never forget him saying run it over, I laughed and said it would total my small truck and hit the breaks. It ended with both of us laughing. He will be so sadly missed by all who knew him.
My children will never forget the times he scared them (first time) with his cat cry then looking forward to hearing it; laughing.
He is in a greater place and with us always in spirit. RIP Uncle Rene' Our prayers are with you all.

To our cousins Linda, George, Lorene, Courtney, Geo, Bryden and Ariaunna - What a treasure of fond memories you must have to bring you comfort during this time of sadness. Though many miles separated us, Rene has always been at the forefront of the cherished family reminiscence. The way Rene's cat sound immitations would distract us at the dinner table so Grandpa Jack could "steal" our food; the camping trip without utensils and with hardboiled eggs to make breakfast with (and the thought of Jackie and our mom back at home breaking open the raw eggs for their potato salad); and Rene letting our Chris get his first first drive time around Applewood Acres on his Cushman (I think). May he rest in peace. With Love - Mike, Shelley and Christopher

Pete and I became close friends at Buick, and even though I left GM in 1971, we stayed close, and recently with email. Jim Thayer

I am so lucky that I was blessed with him as my Uncle. We have so many wonderful family memories and Uncle Rene is such a big part of them. I look forward to celebrating his life with you, Linda, George, and Lorene. I will cherish all the pottery that he has made for me, and pass it down to my children. With Love, Toni

Pete has been my friend since 1969 when I called on him at Buick. We built Street Rods together, hunted and did a lot of remodeling. Pete was always a pleasure to be around and a wonderful role model. Pete was a genuine friend and it's hard to imagine life without him. They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but an entire life to forget them. Pete was a special person and leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those he is leaving behind. I loved him - everyone did - and I am really going to miss him. How blessed I was to have him in my life. Gary Cramer
