

Robert K. Maloney, 79, of Grand Blanc passed away on August 17, 2024. Robert(Bob), was born on January 21, 1945, in Fort Sill, OK. and he was raised in Michigan. He graduated from Cooley High School and was drafted and served in the U.S. Army in Alaska during the Vietnam War.
Bob returned to Michigan and attended Cleary College earning a Business Degree. Bob married Kathy, the love of his life, and they enjoyed nearly 57 wonderful years of marriage. Bob and Kathy had two daughters Tara And Mary.
Bob worked for Burroughs Corporation and then National Medical Care in Boston, MA. The family relocated to the East Coast. Bob’s hard work, dedication, and perseverance resulted in a very successful career. Bob retired as president of his division and the family returned to Michigan. Bob was then able to enjoy some of his hobbies. Hunting, boating, and fishing were among the many things he enjoyed in the great outdoors! He loved watching The Original Six, mostly the Red Wings and enjoyed football! Bob had a passion and love for dogs and horses. He was extremely proud of his Irish heritage. Bob had a heart of gold and his family was of utmost importance to him. He was truly an inspiration and those who knew him would say that the world is a better place because of his contributions to his family and his country.
Bob is survived by his caring, nurturing and loving wife, Kathy; daughters, Tara (husband Jim), and Mary, (husband Gary). And his 3 loving grandchildren who knew him as Papa; Meghan(Brendan), Shannon(Dennis) and Robert(Zee).
Bob’s final resting place will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery. There will be a private ceremony with Military Honors on August 30, 2024. Donations to Great Lakes National Cemetery in lieu of flowers.
