LAWRENCE Sr., Roger M. – Age 63, of Houghton Lake, died Monday, May 2, 2011. Mr. Lawrence was born February 2, 1948 in Schenectady, NY the son of the late Roger and Evelyn (Mackey) Lawrence. He served his country in the U.S.M.C. from 1965 – 1969 having served 33 months in Vietnam. He also served with the 125th HQ of the Michigan National Guard as ammo chief and a life time member of the Millington VFW Post. He was an avid sportsman and railroad fan, working for many years as a steam locomotive fireman for Cross Roads Village. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Brenda (Cosner) Lawrence who he married July 3, 1969. Also surviving are daughter Dawn Lawrence and son Roger Lawrence Jr., and many grandchildren and great grandchildren, sister, Brenda and Keith Keeler, brother, Daniel Lawrence and many nieces and nephews, special friends Roger Young, Michelle McCartney and his loyal pet Sassy. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
