Final Journey
A longer than we ever knew tough journey
From years ago to just right here last week;
The damage of disease that took its toll
Has left us all with memories so sweet.
Come share with us the good times we remember;
Be there to be with us if you can;
Tell stories of hunting and the fishing;
The quiet caring of this gentle man.
The big lap that he shared with waves of grandkids;
The apples, grapes, and berries from his fields;
Tomatoes, too—big ones he was so proud of;
Hot fudge sundaes, and sweet slurpees from 7 eleven.
We’re thankful that his painful days are over;
That peaceful times are what our God has planned;
We’ll miss our hand in his, but we won’t mourn him;
He is healed and happy in the Promised Land!
