Russell M. Thornell Jr.

Russell M. Thornell Jr. died Sunday, March 15th, 2020 at Ascension Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc, MI. Russ was a long-time resident of Grand Blanc who was born in Cape Girardeau, MO to Russell Sr. and Martha Thornell. He worked in automobile sales and management for over 35 years retiring in 2007. Russ is survived by his longtime companion Judith Johnson; daughters Kelly (Jeff) MacDowell and Wendy Tomlinson both of Garland, TX; stepson Larry (Patty) Davis of Fenton, MI; sister Mary Susan (Patrick) Bolerjack of Kenner, LA; sister-in-law Maureen Thornell of Flint, MI; two grandsons and three granddaughters; several nieces and nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Sam Thornell. Please consider making a donation to the charity of your choice. A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Friday, March 20, 2020 at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc. Visitation will take place on Thursday, March 19, 2020 from 6-8pm and again on Friday, one hour prior to the service, beginning at 12 noon. Interment at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery.
