Ruth was born on November 23, 1932 to the late Frank and Agnes Decator in Flint, Michigan. She was a proud graduate of Flint Central High School. Shortly after High School, Ruth met the love of her life Arthur Sleeper. They fell in love and were united in marriage on November 7, 1953, at Court St. Methodist Church in Flint. Ruth was known for her kindness, gentleness, and calm demeanor. She also had a wonderful sense of humor and loved tending to her flowers and playing her organ. Her greatest passion of all were her children and grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
Ruth is survived by her children: Diane (Bruce) Brennan, Lorraine Vandivier, James (Denise) Sleeper; grandchildren: Jason (Melissa) Pringnitz, Tony (Karleigh) Sleeper, Sarah Sleeper; and three great-grandchildren: Jack, Cole, and Jake.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Sleeper, parents and her siblings.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at 12:00pm at Brown Funeral Home – 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00am until time of service. Interment will be at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Grand Blanc, Michigan.
