Sandra’s life was marked by a devotion to the people and places she loved. She found her greatest joy in time spent with family and friends, offering her presence with friendly banter and genuine care.
She enjoyed the simple things in life — especially plants and flowers. Springtime, in particular, brought her delight as she returned to planting and tending her perennial blooms. She liked driving around town to observe the work others had done on their flower gardens and landscaping.
In her younger years, Sandra was very talented at painting ceramic figurines. She often taught others this skill and took great pride in her finished work. She also cherished spending time with her brothers and sisters, especially the laughter and companionship found in playing cards together.
Sandra dedicated most of her early life to raising her seven children. She spent twenty-five years focused on that worthy cause before returning to work after her kids were raised. Sandy also loved traveling with her late husband Frank to classic car shows, and they were both particularly fond of spending time in Frankenmuth MI.
In her later years, she enjoyed relaxing at home and playing on her iPad — particularly solitaire— finding it a familiar comfort and a pleasant way to pass time. Sandy also enjoyed watching old Western TV shows.
Faith and fellowship were important parts of Sandra’s life. She valued being a member of Faith Church of Linden, where she experienced true fellowship and joy with her church family, and she especially loved listening to the congregation sing.
Sandra Helen McMahon will be remembered as a loving mother, wife, sister, and grandma to her extended family. Many were blessed who had the privilege of knowing her.
Sandra leaves to cherish her memory her children: Nancy LaFave of Mocksville, NC, Scott (Cindy) LaFave of Fenton, MI, Steve (Monette) LaFave of Brighton, MI, Darin (Vikki) LaFave of Livonia, MI, Daryl (Jean) LaFave of Wilmington, NC, Brian (Jennifer) LaFave of Boston, MA, and Kelly (Charles) Briner of Mooresville, NC; stepdaughters Tracy McMahon, Tina (Paul) Dasbach, Terri (Greg) Bennett and Tamara (Ken) Paul; grandchildren Brandon, Nicole, Lauren, Christopher, Mackenzie, Bernie, Henry, Dave, Annie, Abby, Nick, Katarina, Connor, Nicholas, Riley, Mazey and Rumi; great-grandchildren Ava, Easton, Ashton and Síle; and siblings Mike, Michelle, Penny and Becky.
