

Melet, Sophia (Suds) Polisar, of Flint Township, age 100, died Wednesday, October 11, 2011 at Sugarbush East. Funeral service will be held at 11 am Friday, October 14, 2011 at Temple Beth El, 5150 Calkins Rd, Flint, MI. Contributions may be made to the General Fund in Sud’s memory at Temple Beth El. Shiva will be observed at the home of Kay & Michael D. Melet, 3806 Wroxton No. 4, Flint on Saturday, October 15th at 7 pm. Sud’s was born in Columbus OH on May 16, 1911 and had lived in Flint and Aventura FL. since 1938. She was the daughter of Rose (Bender) Polisar and Maxwell Polisar. Surviving are her three children Charna (Leo) Seide, Grand Blanc; Marcia (Harvey) Spar Charleston, SC; Michael (Kay) Melet, Flint. 9 grandchildren, Bennye Seide & Jeff Brown Chicago, David & Heather Seide, Grand Blanc, Marcy & Kohl Handlan, St Louis; Mindy Spar, Los Angeles; Myles Spar & Danny Salles, Los Angeles, Todd & Michele Melet, Chapel Hill, NC; Bob & Pamela Melet, New York City; Nancy & Robby Daly, Ann Arbor; Stone & Nikki Melet, San Francisco. 10 great -grandchildren: Mallory (Kevin) Miller & Hunter Seide; Cleo & Canaan Salles-Spar; Sydney & Eli Melet; Sunny Melet; Gillian Daly; Oscar and Bea Melet. Nephew, Steve Polisar (Imke). Niece Shirley (Phil) Goldberg; Many grand nieces and nephews. Cousin Irwin (Lorry) Fenster, West Bloomfield MI. Suds was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Sydney B. Melet (1910 – 1986), sister Bessie Brestin Don (Nat), brothers Eddie (Esther) Polisar and Sam (Rosalie) Polisar. This past year Suds was a resident of Sugarbush East. The family thanks owner Jannine Stoddard and her staff Toni, Lisa, Shel, Michelle, Tanisha, Hila, Alison and of course Murphy for looking after her and making her feel at home and loved. Also Carie Welch, Nicole and Marge, Shirley and Penney of Grace Hospice.
