Sylvia Loretta Perkins

PERKINS, Sylvia Loretta, age 82, of Swartz Creek, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014. Funeral Services will be 12:00PM Monday, March 3, 2014 at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc. Burial will follow at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be 2-8PM Sunday at the funeral home.

Sylvia was born September 9, 1931 in Matoaka, West Virginia the daughter of the late Brainard Floyd and Ethel Mae (Cecil) Woolwine. She married Paul Perkins in 1950 and he preceded her in death in 1984. Sylvia was a nurturing woman who lovingly helped raise her younger siblings. After her marriage, she was devoted to her own children and family. Sylvia supported many people in her lifetime as a friend or confidant, loving them unconditionally.

Surviving are her two sons, Douglas Perkins (Marsha) of Sherman, TX, Larry Perkins (Sheryl) of Flint; 11 grandchildren; brother, Basil Woolwine (Nancy) of Davison; sister, Kathleen Kettle of Swartz Creek. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Betty Perkins in 2002; and seven brothers and sisters.
