Our Mother will always be remembered as the nicest person wherever she went. She had a great spirit and was the diamond in the rough of our family. Her outer beauty was only surpassed by her beauty within. She was a true shinning star and will be missed to no end. Our Mother was always the best listener and had the patience of a Saint. She could take away your fears and frustrations with her gaze and calm demeanor. She had great pride in her appearance and was a bit prim and proper at times. Probably from her strict English and Baptist upbringing. Sylvia had a great believe in God and Jesus Christ, her savior. She was baptized in 1944 and at the time of her passing was the oldest living member of the First Baptist Church in Grand Blanc Michigan.
Our Mother, Sylvia was the 1950 Queen of Grand Blanc, which always brought a lot of pride to our family. Mom worked briefly at A.C. Spark Plug in the 1950's and in Cosmetics at Hudson's in Flint from 1970 to 1988. She took great pride in her children, her grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Christmases were always the highlight of the year and will be sorely missed without her presence.
Our Mother, Sylvia M. Wilson was preceded in death by our Father, Donald Eldon Wilson (2016), her parents, Sidney J. and Gertrude L. Green, her brother, Douglas Green and son-in-law, Dayton Newman. Surviving are her sisters, Rosemary (Green) Katterjohn, and Margaret (Green) Mai (Jerry).
She leaves behind her children:
Son, Jeffrey L. Wilson, his wife Kathynne, their daughters, MacKenzie Sult (Ryan), their son Dylan, Stephanie Wilson and her daughter, Georgia.
Daughter, Sandra R. Newman (Dayton), their two daughters, Ashley Tundo (Bill), their children, Lilliana & Madison and Ryan Haddix (Daniel), their children, Dayton & Aubrey.
Son, Scott D. Wilson and his daughter Emily A. Wilson.
Son, Jack R. Wilson, (Jenny) and their daughter, Kylie Tucker (David) & their daughter Adalyn.
Our sounding board is gone, and though we won't show it as much as we should, the loss is unbearable.
A special thank you to Sylvia's sister, Margaret and Uncle Jerry Mai for being there by our mothers side on daily basis to the end.
God, please join my mother and father in watching over our family. Help to bring us a little more comfort each day until we all can be together again. Love you Mom, you were the best!
