Thomas Lynn Bateman, born in Mason, MI on May 8, 1949 was 72 years old when he went to be with the Lord on January 28, 2022. Tom enjoyed many activities in his life including fishing, hunting and traveling. His most precious past time was spending life with his wife of 52 years, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family. He was presented his Eagle Scout award by the President of the United States and proudly served in the U.S. Army Infantry.
Tom was a long-term employee for Hall Steel Industries until they closed. He continued his career at ArcelorMittal until his retirement in 2017.
Surviving family are wife, Jeanette Bateman; daughters: Tina (Dale), Michelle (Joshua), Patty (Dan); grandchildren: Greg, Patrick (Alisa), Ashley (Jeffrey), Trevor, Travis (Katie), Logan, Noah, Sophie, Tony, Desere, Cassie (Anthony), Brittany (Jeff), Brock (Dennis), CJ; great grandchildren: James, Penelope, Soneya, Wyatt, Emma, Luke, Aubrey, Cam, Rowan, Raylan; as well as many nieces and nephews; special friends: Jim Smalley, Sue Smith, Nina Stensrud & Family. He was preceded in death by his father, Nellis Bateman; mother, Leona Bateman, and his brother, Ken Bateman.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 1:00pm with visitation beginning at 11:00am at Hill Funeral Home – 11723 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Michigan. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Grand Blanc, Michigan with military honors.
