William C. Hill

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William C. Hill on August 6, 2026 lovingly known as Bill Hill. He lived a life filled with love, laughter, hard work and lasting moments that will forever remain in our hearts.

Born on March 21, 1941 in Flint, Michigan to Orville L. Hill & Violet M. (Yager) Hill. The eldest of 4 children; he is preceded in death by his parents, brother Orville Hill (Mary) of Cheboygan MI, sister Judith Hill Lapeer MI and is survived by sister Sandra Rogers (Jerry) Burton MI. Bill is survived by and was a devoted partner to Judy Pelkola for the past 15 years. He was a loving father to Karol Groos (Bret) of Naples FL, Edward Hill (Stephanie) of Punta Gorda FL, William C. Hill Jr. (Lori) of Naples FL, Stephen Hill of Lawrence MI, Lucas Sayen (Becky) of Lapeer MI, Jason Sayen (Rachel) of Bay City MI, Matthew Hill (Briana) of Flint MI and Nicholas Hill (Brittney) of Gaylord MI. Bill adored his bonus kids Robin Earhart (Jay) of Grand Blanc MI, Rick White of Linden MI, Kerri Mince (Scott), Kristi Johnson (Travis) both of Caledonia MI. He was further blessed with 32 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren along with 2 more on the way. Bill treasured his role as provider, protector and mentor to his family. His unwavering love, guidance, and support were the foundations that shaped their lives, leaving an enduring legacy of compassion, generosity, strength, and unity.

Bill spent his early years in Levering MI until the age of 6 when the family relocated to Flint MI. He attended Beckwith School until the 8th grade and graduated from Beecher High School in 1960. Bill’s first job after graduation was working for General Motors at the Willow Run Corvair Plant in Ypsilanti. He served in the US Navy from 1961 thru 1964 in Honolulu Hawaii, Guam and Okinawa Japan. Upon his return from military duty, he returned to General Motors working at the GM Truck & Bus Plant in Flint MI until his retirement in 2008. One of Bill’s greatest passions was his music. He learned to play guitar at age 9 and played with several bands throughout his career, most notably Country Sunshine with whom he recorded 2 albums. He later played with The Cruisin Band. Bill was also an avid leather craftsman.

Bill had an unwavering zest for life and pursued his passions with unmatched enthusiasm whether he was playing guitar, working, fishing, making something in his leather shop or simply spending time with his loved ones. His positive spirit and genuine love for life were contagious, bringing joy to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Everyone was a friend and he always had a story to tell.

Throughout his life, Bill touched the lives of many through his selfless acts of kindness and generosity.As we reflect on the life of Bill Hill, our hearts overflow with treasured memories. We will forever remember the joyous family gatherings, the heartfelt conversations and the shared moments of love and laughter that enriched our lives.

We invite you to join us in a celebration of Bill Hill’s life at Hill Funeral Home 11723 S. Saginaw St. Grand Blanc, MI on Saturday, August 15, 2026 12:00pm – 5:00pm with services following from 5:00pm to 6:00pm. Together, let us honor his memory and celebrate the remarkable man he was by sharing stories, reminiscing about the happy times and finding solace in the support of one another. In lieu of flowers kindly consider a donation in his honor to your local Veterans Organization or Halsey United Methodist Church. Inurnment for Bill will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2026, at 1:00pm at Munro Township Cemetery, 8016 Brandau Road, Levering, MI.
