Athena Marie McElroy

Athena was born on October 20, 2006, in Denver, Colorado, to LaVonne Rubalcaba. During her youth, she was an avid softball player and excelled in the sport. She had a strong interest in pursuing a degree in healthcare and was attending courses at CMU with hopes to enter the medical field. She was working as a home health provider and was passionate about taking care of the elderly. Athena enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with her cousins and family. She was caring and always tried to see the best in people. She loved music and traveling. She was charismatic and had a spirited soul.

Athena is survived by her grandfather, Ron Rubalcaba of Grand Junction; sister, Dannielle Wieker of North Dakota; brothers, Makai Alexander and Koby Rubalcaba, both of Grand Junction; and her nephew, Ryder Wieker, of North Dakota. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Rosella Rubalcaba; mother, Lavonne Rubalcaba; and many other loved family members.

A rosary will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., at Martin Mortuary. A memorial mass will take place on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., at Martin Mortuary.
