Barbara Joan Wittry

She worked at the Public Library. It especially suited her, as she was an avid reader. In her earlier years, she had been a Troop Leader for both Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. After chasing and raising six kids, she still found time to get together “with the girls” to play Pinnacle.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Roy Wittry; her daughter, Elizabeth Arterburn; and one sister, Norma McMenamin.

She is survived by her one sister, Gloria Perkins; five children: Theresa (Joe) McQueen, Michael (Sue) Wittry, Marianne (Phil) Lopez, Christine (Rick) Layman, and Karen (Chris) Hunter; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren

Services will be held at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary on April 10th at 11:00 AM, and she will be laid to rest with her husband at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to HopeWest Care Center located at 3090 North 12th Street, Grand Junction, Colorado 81506.
